10th Anniversary Market Saturday 4th July 2009
It's ten years since Jasper Conran and the late Isabella Blow launched this fabulous market. To celebrate, Matthew Fort will be cutting the birthday cake at 11 am together with local dignitaries. Expect stilt walkers, Teddy the Chalford donkey, give-aways, Hobbs House chocolate cake and jubilation.

Stroud Farmers' Market is multi-award winning and is well known as one of the the busiest and most popular farmers market in the UK and has been featured in the Sunday Telegraph, The Observer, The Independent, The Guardian Weekend, The Times and the Country Living Guide to Farmers' Markets amongst many other publications.
We have also been on BBC Blue Peter, BBC Rick Stein's Food Heroes, BBC Points West "Eat the West" and ITV West's "Secrets of the Cotswolds" among our many appearances on television. The Hairy Bikers recently visited us to film for their new series for BBC2 to be screened this autumn.
The market was the inspiration for Katie Ford's best selling novel "Paradise Fields" .
There are around 45 to 60 stalls each Saturday, (less in January) depending on the season, with up to 10 organic producers selling a good range of certified organic food and drink. As well as heaps of local produce, including cooked food stalls all year, there is always a wide range of quality local crafts from traditional & contemporary makers, and the market cafe for a welcome rest.
This famous market is well worth a visit whether you are a new-comer to farmers markets or a well seasoned lover of fine local food and drink.
The Threadneedle Flea Market joins the market on the last Saturday of each month with an eclectic mix of old and new - vintage galvanized watering cans and bath tubs, fairly traded Moroccan gifts, collectables, garden and home wares, planters, garden furniture, and more.

Market cafe....now every week, alternating between Nightingale's Cafe and the Little Red Cafe, both offering fairly traded tea and coffee, and a range including waffles, bacon sandwiches, paninis, home made soup, home baked cakes, and more.
